"I'm going to be teaching you the execution and the flow of the "Swimming" exercise from the Basic Pilates Mat Work. This exercise is great for increasing the strength in spinal extension, increasing the flexibility and strength of the thighs. Making sure that you?re keeping your shoulder keeping your shoulder girdle pulled in tight, so it?s great for shoulder stability and length of the arms. And overall strength of the upper back. Anchoring the pelvis into the floor, reach your right arm and left leg in opposition to each other. Curl your eyes up, your nose up and reach your chest up off the floor, and switch legs and arms. Inhale- switch. Exhale- switch. Inhale - switch. Lengthen and reach. And reach and lengthen. Now don't touch the floor in between each one. Reach and reach and reach. Now there's a shark coming after you! Nice and fast; one and two and three and keep reaching long. Keep breathing; inhaling and exhaling. Keeping the pelvis stable on the floor. Keeping the shoulders down your spine, belly lifted in and up and release and relax. And that is the "Swimming" exercise."
