"This is Lauren on behalf of Expert Village and we are on to where to find a Chinchilla Part 3. One more place to find a Chinchilla is going to a Chinchilla show. A lot of people don't know you can actually show a Chinchilla but they do have shows and breeders from all over the country will go and attend those. Typically they are back in the Midwest but if you do a search, there are actually Chinchilla breeding sights and they will have information where the local shows are. There are Chinchilla Registries and they are the ones that sponsor these shows but you need to be a little bit conscious because there is a chance that there will be some Chinchillas brought to the show that aren't quite up to par and there are different reasons for that. Typically there is going to be a wide range. You are going to have a lot of animals to look at, a lot of different colors, a lot more variety than you would just going to a pet store or something like that. You are really going to see some really good examples at the show of what a top quality Chinchilla would look like. There is going to be a wide price range. Don't expect it just because it is a show that there is going to be half the price. Stay tuned with us and in the next segment, we are going to talk about where to find a Chinchilla part 4. "

Plus you meet people who actually KNOW what they are talking about not some fly by night lady lying through her teeth to make a quiCk buck on chins!! sad sad sad THAT PEOPLE RESORT TO THIS!

on 3/1/2009 What I want to know is why in the tags it says "squirrel" do you seriously think a chinchilla is a squirrel or something?
As far as shows go, mostly the people who go to shows go for A) Showing their animals, B) Purchasing good stock, or C) Learning tips on grooming or other things chinchilla related. The only real people (Usually) who don't go to shows who have chinchillas that ARE NOT UP TO PAR are backyard breeders. Get your information right before you kill thousands of chins.

on 3/1/2009 There are chins being bred ALL OVER, not "primarily in the midwest"
Are you serious, chins are shows being "not up to par"... yea, a pet store is so much better.
This is ridiculously stupid and misleading.
