"Hi, I?m Mike Lais on behalf of Expert Village. Today we are going to be talking about getting familiar with the guitar. Choosing a guitar to play: When it comes down to doing this it's really just basically more of what you are comfortable with in terms of affording and playing as well. There's a couple of options. Basically when you get into the music store you just need to figure out what it is that you want to be doing with your music. For example, this right here as I've said before is a Martin DC-15 series. This is a great guitar that I like, because it's got a punchy sound to it and it's really nice for blues, acoustic blues type stuff. One of the issues with this guitar that you may find is that your fingers are going to get sore faster as you are playing this guitar. Versus if you were playing a nylon string guitar, because that has easier pressure down on the guitar. When you have to play your notes like this for example it's going to be a lot less strenuous on your hands. For all of you rockers out there, that are going to be wanting to really play, you can go and grab yourself an electric. This right here is a Sheckter diamond series. It play off of 2 hum bucker pickups and it has a whole bunch of little nice things about it that really make it for your really rocking guitar. If you are trying to be a blues player, I may recommend with going with something like a Stratocaster or a Telecaster, because that floats along the neck a little bit better. You just get a different tone. Basically when you're picking a guitar, just grab a hundred of them off the shelf, plug them in, see which one sounds and feels the best for you."
