"Now we have learned the B flat major scale. Out of the B flat major scale there are a couple of major components that help in playing in B flat and make up the fundamentals of the major scale. From B flat you can make chords, chords are a group of 3 different notes that are comprise from the B flat major scale. The 1st chord starts on the 1st note of B flat major scale which is B flat. There are chords that can start off of every note from the scale. The first note B flat major then you use the 3rd note which is D and then the 5th note which is F. This chord a major chord uses the 1st, 3rd and then the 5th notes from the scale. It can be outlined in a arpeggio. Let me play the arpeggio. When you play the arpeggio all together you get a chord. This chord the 1st one is a major chord this is because of the different intervals between the 3rds that make up the chord. From the bottom we have B flat to D this is a major 3rd. A major 3rd has 4 half steps. Let's look at the piano and understand how this works. Starting on B flat we go up 1,2,3,4 half steps from D which is the 3rd note of the scale. That is a major 3rd."
