"SHAUN SCHAEFER: Hi, I'm Shaun Schaefer on behalf of Expert Village. And today, we're going to learn how to set up a drum kit. Now, that we have our kick drum set up, it's time to set up the rack tom stand and the snare drum stand. Now most drum sets, you don't need a stand for your rack tom. It just hooks right on to the kick drum. But I use a stand for it. I like it better. It's just a personal preference. So let's go ahead and let's set this up. Loosen it, spread out the legs. And then it's just a personal preference, just make sure it's sturdy. But that looks to be about how I normally set it up. And then take these arms out right here. It's what actually physically holds the drum. And then set it about where you think it's going to go. That looks close enough. So we'll leave that right there for now. Next, we're going to do the snare drum stand. Now, with the snare drum stand, it's important that you don't spread the legs out too far. And I'll show you that reason in a second. Just get it there. Now, you still want to make sure it's sturdy and it's not going to fall. But the reason why is you want to make sure that the stand legs are not going to get in the way of your feet and your pedals. So that looks about right. We'll adjust later. This is just the basic set-up for now."
