"If you really get into this sound, you know, and you want to kind of take it in a little bit different direction, you might be interested in getting what's called a resophonic guitar or a resonating plate guitar. You know, this is a newer one, you know, some of the older ones were made by companies like Fender and, I'm sorry, f**k not Fender, this is the Fender. Start over Dobro or National is what I meant to say. Cut, never mind, okay. So if you really get into this kind of sound and this kind of playing and you want to maybe want to take it into a little bit different direction, you might be interested in trying out a guitar like this, which is known as a resonating guitar or a resonator, resophonic guitar. A guitar like this is set up with a special kind of bridge that causes the vibrations in the guitar to travel kind of down these little bars that are inside. It's actually kind of a spider web-shaped structure inside that then contacts something inside that's basically like an aluminum pie plate that's kind of upside down and causes the vibrations to go into that. So it's basically a mechanical speaker and it resonants when you play. The result is, if you play it really hard, and, in fact, with a guitar like this, you probably would want to be using a thumb pick. Maybe even little picks on all your fingers. But it really kind of has a louder twangier sound and maybe you can kind of hear it if I play a little bit here. I don't even know if I'm in tune, hang on. Always tune the guitar, yeah. With my silk suspenders, pink stockings on my feet and my turkey red bloomers, they got a rumble seat. So hurry home sweet daddy and don't you take your time. If you wait too long, your mama will be gone. Each Sunday morning, just look at me go. There's a place for me in heaven. The preacher told me so. So hurry home sweet daddy and don't you take your time. If you wait too long, your mama will be gone. If you wait too long, your mama will be gone. So you see this resonating guitar kind of has a brighter tone, kind of a twangier tone to it. And, if that's what you like, you might want to try it out."
