Video Transcript

"Hello, my name is Scott Soller, Yoga instructor . I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. Next pose, The Sage Twist. Right foot comes under the left thigh, left foot comes over the right thigh just beyond the knee. Plug both sit bones down, as you inhale, sit tall. Now take the left sit bone back a little bit, this will alleviate strain on the s high joint. You want to sit tall and as you exhale take the right armpit over toward the left and beyond the left knee. Left hand comes behind, palm down, right hand is up, fingers wide. Eventually you could turn the fingers down to work the shoulder a little bit more. To release, inhale, elongate, exhale, release to the front. Feel the release, and then other side. Left foot comes under right thigh, right foot just along the side the outside of the left knee. You can pull in the knee, press the lower back in, inhaling, sit tall. If you press the right thigh into your abdomen this will help you get the elbow over as you exhale, and twist. Bring the right sit bone back a little bit, right palm comes down. You want to sit tall with each inhale, think length. Then the discs will glide effortlessly over each other. Remember when you elongate you go down and up at the same time. To release, sit tall on the exhale, release to front."
