"Hi, my name is Cindy Mastry with Yoga Etc Studio on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip, I'm going to demonstrate the yoga Dandasana, or the staff of a yogi. And in this position, the yogi actually uses his foot as a crutch to lean on. So I'm going to start in Dandasana, lengthening up and extending through my heels. I'm going to take my right leg and bend it back so my right heel is next to my hip. I'm then going to take my left foot and bring it up towards my knee and just play a little bit to open up through my hip. I'm then going to place my left foot into my left armpit and just lengthen up and rotate. And then I'm going to wrap my arm around, come into the bind, and just lean and rest on my foot as a crutch. This is supposed to be a very restful pose, so that the yogis could rest after a long time of meditation. And then releasing, as always very slowly, from any pose, extending the legs back out, and that's the yoga Dandasana, Staff of Yogi Pose."
