"Hi, my name is Cindy Mastry with Yoga Etc. Studio on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip we're going to demonstrate the bird of paradise. Faith is going to help me demonstrate. She's going to start out with a little bit wider than a regular stance for your mountain pose. She's going to inhale in, lengthen up, reach her arms up and as she exhales she's going to come all the way forward into her forward fold. (Good) She's going to take her right arm over to the side of the left just to lengthen out through the side of her body and she's going to take her right arm in between her legs and up over to her right hip. She's going to inhale and extend her left arm up and around coming into that bound twist and binding the hands. So she's then going to walk her right toe over into her left foot coming up to the ball of her foot. She's really going to have to engage her core and use her abdominal strength cause as she inhales she's going to focus and lift herself up all the way to standing. (Good) When she gets to full standing the full expression of the pose, she extends her long. (Beautiful, good) Then releasing bending the knee and coming all the way back down, good. Unwinding, releasing, good. She's going to inhale and come all the way back up and exhale to extended leg mountain pose. (Good) That's the bird of paradise."
