"Hi, my name is Cindy Mastry with Yoga Etc. Studio on behalf of Expert Village. This is April and she's going to help me demonstrate tree in a half lotus. She's going to start by standing into dusk on a mountain pose grounding her feet right down into the ground. So she's just going to lift up her toes and she's going to pretend like they're little roots and she's going to spread them and let her roots grow out and connect to the ground. Good! Then she's going to squeeze her thighs together, tilt her tail bone down, pull her belly in, lift up through her heart. Good and she's going to come up to the ball of her right foot, turn her right knee out to the side. Good and then she's going to come into regular tree. She's going to go ahead and bring her hands in the heart center onto underly mudra pressing her palms together. So she's going to allow her knee to fall out allowing her hip to open and notice how her hips stay nice and level, that helps with the balance. She's going to take her heel and bring it up to her hip and allow her knee to fall down again and out to the side. She's going to root down once more into the ground from the waist down the root of the tree and then she's going to inhale and reach her arms up and allow her branches to grow right up to the sun. Beautiful and release! That's the tree and half lotus."
