Video Transcript

"Now we're looking at the "Refund" section of the Form 1040EZ. At this point, we've completed lines "9" and "10" of Form 1040EZ. Line "9" is the total tax that was paid, and line "10" is the total tax that we owe. If line "9" is larger than line "10", which means that we've paid more than we owe, then we're going to get a refund. You subtract line "10" from line "9" and put that on line "11A". You can also have your refund deposited directly to your account, and if you choose to do this, you simply put in the routing number, the type of account (checking or savings) and your account number in the appropriate boxes on "B" and "D", section "11". If you owe taxes, and that means that line "10" is larger than line "9", you enter this amount on line "12" and you'll need to send a check in."
