"To begin working on your 1040EZ, you should first gather up all your W2 forms. You should have W2 form for each employer if you had more than one job during the year. Your W2 form is going to show how much you earned in salary and wages and it will also show how much you paid in taxes. You will also need to get a 1099G which is unemployment compensation and 1099 INT for interest statements. It will be best to get to get two copies of your 1040EZ. You can use one as a draft copy and you can use one for your final copy and you should also get a copy of the instructions. You can download the instructions from a number of websites which would be helpful too. You will also need a calculator and pen and I recommend a pencil to use on your draft copy. "
