Using iMovie for Video Blogs: Part 1

"Continuing our coverage about video blogging, video pod casting, video recording, blogging, whatever you want to call it. One of the programs that we use, a lot of people are using Apple's now, Apple Mac, is iMovie and I just happen to have iMovie HD. And this is the screen that comes up. You can create a new project, open up and existing one. We're going to create a new project, and we're just going to call this one Migratemoviep for the heck of it. Format we don't have to worry about for now just because we are going to export it differently later anyway. So iMovie comes up and there's different features down here. If I had my camera hooked up, like I did in previous videos recording, a picture would show up and I could import the video directly into the bin over here. Or I can drag a video into this bin from my desktop, as you can see that it's importing right now. So I can import graphics, I can import music, other audio clips and then when I am done with this then I will put them down on the time line down on the bottom here. After this imports I will show you. But you can drag your clips down on the time line, which then makes it pretty simple to, here's the time line that's that great video, so I can drag this down to the timeline down at the bottom here. Ok, and there's a button right here on you left, you can make this use this with a thumbnail and you can have a bunch of thumbnails here. Or you can make this a timeline by clicking that and this way you can make this or see your audio, this is your audio, this line here you can bring your audio down. As you see, the clip decreases to zero and brings it up. So, right here watch, we'll follow this the audio would then fade here. If I want to make an edit, say I want to edit that right there. I can go up to the menu, menu edit, and select "split video clip at play head", which then these becomes two separate clips. So if I then wanted to move this clip around, put something in between, or if I had audio underneath this is just a simplistic way of showing you some features of iMovie and basic editing. I am sure there's other online that you can view, but this is just a quick run down."
