The supermarket is not generally considered a hunter’s paradise. The prey has already been caught, processed and shelved; not much of a challenge there. Toss a few groceries in the cart and your work is done. However, there is one type of prey that walks the isles in abundance: the human female. You see them around every corner, grazing, reaching, bending down to grab something on the bottom shelf. For the unattached male of the species, these rituals can be quite enticing. While many members of this herd have retired from the mating dance years ago, the alert male is likely to find available females to his liking. Yet this male is accustomed to making his approach in a dimly lit club, emboldened by alcohol and encouraged by friends. Can he still make his move in the bright glow of florescent lights, sober and surrounded by cans of soup and paper towels?
In this series of dating instructional videos, our relationship expert tells you how to pick up a woman at a grocery store. From an actual grocery store, with an actual woman, Alex MacRae demonstrates how to approach (eye contact and a smile always help), make conversation, establish common ground and even ask for a date. Alex, co-founder of askromeo.com, discusses his tried and true flirting techniques as well as some scenarios to avoid. Respect her privacy by making the conversation seem as casual as possible. Do not chat her up in certain sections of the store. Whether you are in a supermarket or not, this series has sound advice on topics such as body language and graceful conversation enders that can be helpful to anyone looking for a date.
"Hey everyone. My name is Allen, co- founder of askromeo.com and on behalf of Expert Village I'm here to show you how to meet a woman at a supermarket. Alright, so there are a couple of things you have to consider when you are looking at the environment where you are going to meet somebody. The first thing is what I call social acceptability or how acceptable is it socially to meet somebody in that environment. So, when you are in a supermarket it's very, very different than if you we're meeting them in a bar or a club. When a woman is at a bar or a club a lot of different people come up to talk to her and she's probably talked to a whole bunch of people that night. When you are at a supermarket she probably hasn't experienced a whole bunch of people coming up to her to talk to her or flirt with her in a supermarket. So, as a result her response's are going to be a lot more natural and she's going to be a lot more open to you. The second thing that you want to consider is what I call the story. Alright? Or, the story behind how you met. So, if you got all dressed up and went out and went to a bar where it's expected to meet and pick up somebody, it has a lot of a different, it has a very different connotation than if you meet somebody in a supermarket where you are not planning on it, it wasn't expected and you just happened to run across. And for whatever reason you just had to come up and talk to them and you had to start flirting with them and you had to ask them out. It's a very, very different story and it's very powerful. So those are the things you need to consider when you are looking at the location where you're going to meet somebody."

on 8/2/2008 I met my fiance at the supermarket. I was caught totally off guard, I was impressed by him being up and shopping at 9am. I gave him my card and he called me a few hours later which seemed aggressive, but I loved it! Now I definately LOVE telling people that we met in Aisle 7!
