DJ Scratching Fundamentals

"Hi this is DJ Shy and I'm here with Expert Village and I'm going to tell you the fundamentals on how to scratch. Now what you need is a scratch record. What a scratch record is is that it's a compilation of a whole bunch of different scratching sounds so that you can use in order to scratch over a beat. So I have one already set for you. It's going to sound like this, all you got to do is pick a scratching noise that you will want to you like this. Okay I found one, and I think I'm going to use this one right here. That's a very very basic sounding scratch; it's the "aww". So that is the one that I've selected and you would want to know where you start with that noise. So that you?re going to use your serato. That noise starts right there, you can visually see where that wave comes from, it comes from right here. So with this great technology I can see it starts right there and it's very important to get a crisp sound so you know where the beginning is and that's going be coming in handy later on."
