"Alright everybody, now we're going to talk about some basic sleight of hand and how you apply it to cups and balls. For this I’ve actually switched over to one of the professional cups, a metal cup, and these are the balls that we use with it. Most of the time you're going to get these. These are cork balls with a crocheted shell and they're kind of nice. These are the 1 inch size. Let's say you have a ball under the cup already, which we're going to talk about later. You want to make this ball look like it vanished and reappeared under that cup. You can pretend to put the ball in your hand. You can make it disappear like this and you can lift it up and show the ball. If you watched the magic with office supplies, during the 2 ball transfer trick I did a false transfer that looked like this. I take the ball I put it in my hand, but I don't really let go and I pull it back out like this. So from this side, it looks like this. When the hands touch, when the pinkies touch here, I pull the ball out into my hand. If you do with the right timing, it looks like this. Now, in a minute I'm going to show you how to do something called the finger palm where you hold the ball kind of like this. When you learn the finger palm, you can do a false transfer this way. You just take the ball; you pretend to dump it in your hand. You really hold it like that and if you have the cup inverted with a ball underneath, you can take this ball. You can put in your hand, squeeze it away, make it go like that, and you can make the ball appear underneath. So if you work on this one, you work on this one, you'll have a couple of false transfers that you can do with your cups and balls routine. "
