We're going to make party hats. This very fun New Years hat is a cinch to make out of a large piece of construction paper, curly ribbon, and glitter glue sticks. The first thing you are going to do of course, is to make your cone out of construction paper to fit your head. And then decorate it. With this particular hat, unlike the others, I had it all together when I decorated. What I did, was to take my water bottle, and set the hat over the water bottle. That way you have something to hold it, and it's secure. But it's not going to be falling down and getting all over the place with your glue. What I did with this on, was to take my blue glue pen. And just made my little champagne glass here out of glitter. Then I took my gold pen, and I just started going around, until I had all these around. Then I took my other colors and I just made curly ques and dots and different things on it. Then I took different colors of curling ribbon. Cut different lengths. As you can see, I have used quite a few different ones here. Put them all together. Then, once they're all together, that's the best time to go ahead and curl them. You can leave it like this, so that it's a loose curl, and you would have a completely different look for your party hat. But, if you want a tighter curl, just take your scissors, and pull your ribbon through it, and you will get a tighter curl. If that isn't tight enough, take your ribbon, and pull it through again. Every time you pull it you get a little bit tighter curl. Another fun look would be to have your short curls and your tight curls, and also your longer curls. You can secure your hat with either tape, or staples, or even masking tape. Best part about this hat is, that it's anything you want it to be. But I really like the glitter and the curling ribbon. It gives it a real festive look for anniversary or New Year. So, Happy New Year, Happy Anniversary, Happy Hat!
