Steve Jobs has done it again. Apple has literally revolutionized the world of digital music with the introduction of its latest powerhouse team: the iTunes software application & the iPod mp3 player. Apple’s competitors have been playing catch up ever since—trying to grab at any available market share left over by disgruntled former iTunes users, those slow to adapt to new technologies, or just this year’s new crop of digital music devotees. As a response to those newcomers, Jobs continues to revise and refine the iTunes formula, reducing the amount of inconvenience to the end user (though increasing it in some important ways), maintaining a simplicity of design and function, and expanding the cross-media availability by deepening the catalog of songs, offering DRM-free music (a must in this day and age), and keeping a flexible outlook for the future.
In this free iTunes help video series, we’re going to teach you how to get started using the software that has become one of the standards of both the consumer and professional music industries. Our expert will walk you through how to download iTunes, how to use the interface, how to import mp3s (songs) into your library, how to rip CDs, download songs from the iTunes store, get ID3 and metadata for your albums, make a playlist, and how to sync your ipod to iTunes. There’s a little bit of everything here, in hopes to lure you into the wonderful world of digital music, as served up by Apple, Inc.
"Hey everybody! My name is Matt and I'm speaking to you on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'm going to be teaching you about iTunes. For those of you who don't know what iTunes is, it is the Apple Company proprietary digital media application. iTunes is free to download and you can download it from Apple's website. What iTunes does is it connects to Apple's iTunes store and it lets you search and download thousands of music files. You can use iTunes to manage your existing library of MP3s or you can download a music file directly through the iTunes library, which usually cost about 99 cents per track. You can also download music videos. You can download television shows and even feature length films. If you have an iPod or an iPhone, the iTunes interface lets you easily manage and transfer the files to and from your device. iTunes is available for the Mac OS. It's available for Windows Vista, and it's also available for XP and Windows 2000 as well. Let's get into using iTunes."
