"Welcome back to Expert Village my name is Alisha. Let's continue to talk about child proofing a pool. Another thing you need to keep in mind is you have a jacuzzi or a spa. The water may feel great to you but this is actually be too hot for children. My pediatrician actually told me not to let my kids in a jacuzzi until they are 12 years old. Younger kids can not regulate their body temperature as well as adults can. One of the easiest way to keep your jacuzzi cool is just to turn off the heater whenever you are not using it. It may be a inconvenience and you have to let it heat up again but at least you would know your child is not going to get burned if they end up going in to the jacuzzi. Another thing you want to keep in mind with your pool is the drains. Pool are always suppose to have 2 drains at the bottom of the pool, this helps equalize the pressure of the drains. If a pool drain is damaged or cracked make sure you get it repaired and fixed immediately. A kid could easy get a limb caught or a toy caught in the drain and could easily drown. Another thing you want to keep in mind is the pool light. Make sure that the pool light is not too hot when it is on, this could burn a child and you would not even realize it. You would think hey it is in the water it is not going to get too hot but it easily can."
