"Welcome back to Expert Village my name is Alisha. Let's continue and talk about child proofing a pool. Another barer to have is a fence. A fence prevents you child from getting into the water. The fence has to have a good lock which a child can not reach. This one is actually magnetic so when I lift up on this I also have to use then my other arm to undo the latch. Then it is easy to open. It is also important to have self closing gates so when you let go it automatically locks right behind you. That is another good thing because kids could easily come running in right after you and trying to get in the pool area. Another thing you have to keep in mind is the spacing between the bars. You never want anything to be wider than a soda can or even underneath. For a child could easily get through if something is that wide or even get stuck. Another thing you want to keep in mind is security make sure it does not wiggle too much otherwise a large child could easily push it over. Our last tip to know is keep light weight furniture from pool fences. You may not think of this but little kids could easily push these chairs around and easily climb up on top of the chair and could happen to get over into the pool area. Alway keep light weight furniture away from fences or out of the patio areas where kids do not have a opportunity to jump the fence."
