Step 1
Stop driving so durn fast in town! Why are you in such a hurry to get to the next stoplight and sit there? Did you know while you are sitting at a stoplight, you are getting 0mpg? Ease off the accelerator and coast up to stoplights. Save fuel by coasting into red lights until they are green, or coast to yellow or stale green (green lights about to turn red) lights. There is no reason to be on the accelerator wasting gas when the light is going to turn. The longer you are sitting still, the worse gas mileage you are going to get.

Step 2
Utilize your cruise! Cruise whenever you can.. at 55. If you can't stand going 55, then cruise at a speed 65 or under. That is the speed limit in most states anyhow. Try 55 for a tank of gas and take note of how much more mileage you get!
You can even cruise in town if your car will let you. You'd be surprised how much gas you save by not slamming on your gas every time you get an opening. It's much safer too.
How to track MPG: Reset your trip odometer. Drive until your tank is all the way empty. Fill up until you are all the way full. Divide the miles listed on your trip odometer by the number of gallons you filled up with. The resulting number is your MPG. Do this every time you fill up to get a good average. -
Step 3
Remove unnecessary weight. Take all of that junk out of your car that you don't use. Remove your golf clubs when you're not going to play. Take out the gym bag you probably never use anyway. Put your clothes in your closet where they belong. Clean out your glove box. Added weight is a killer when it comes to gas mileage. Get rid of any excess weight you can.

Step 4
Perform a water fuel conversion. If you really want to know how to save gas, give water fuel conversion a look. This technology has been known to increase gas mileage safely by over 75% in most cases. It is a simple process that anyone can do in their own garage. This technology has been around a few years, but is becoming viral lately as it sweeps the nation. View the video for more information and then visit http://waterfuelconversion.net
