Tips & Warnings:

  • Word association is key. Drawing a picture or hearing specific sounds in a word can be very helpful in memorization. For example Potato in Russian sounds like 'car' 'toe' and 'fell' With those three words that are each familiar to you make up a picture in your mind of a car that's brown like a potato, in the shape of a toe, and has fallen off a cliff. Chances are you will remember the word for potato for along time.
Step1
Write each word on a piece of paper with the English words and Russian pronunciation.
Step2
Look at these words or review the video through out the day, and say the words to yourself or someone else as much as possible.
Step3
With the words make your self a quiz. You can do this with flash cards or by folding a paper in half. Flashcards are nice because you can shuffle the order, and combine them with other words you are learning.
