Tips & Warnings:

  • Keep well hydrated
  • Stretch before and after run
  • Running may cause injury be sure you are running properly with the right shoes
  • DO NOT over work yourself! This can cause torn muscles.
Step1
Structure Triax +11 Structure Triax +11 First you need a good pair of running shoes. I would recommend going to your nearest athletic shoe store and asking a sales rep the best kind of running shoes. If you pronate or supernate you will need a specific shoe to help with that problem. For "neutral runners" I would recommend Nike's Air Zoom Structure Triax +11, they are very comfortable, and great for running.
Step2
Begin a warmup jog for 10 minutes to get your body ready, and warmed up. After the warm-up jog, remember to stretch your muscles. Stretch for about 5-10 minutes before workout.
Step3
While you run, keep a good posture with arms at a 90 degree angle, and hands lightly cupped. While running don't land on your heel, landing on your heel when running is causing you to brake and making your run more harmful to your muscles.
Step4
When running land midpoint of your foot and push off on your toes, this will give you more stability as well as power.
Step5
Make sure you do a cool down run as well as a vigorous stretching session. Stretching your muscles after a run helps build muscles, and also will help prevent sore muscles. Also, drink plenty of water after your run.

on 3/27/2008 Running in Chicago is almost impossible with the bikes next to the runners and the runners next to the ones who walk.
The joggers are basically jogging on the street sides.

Forest trails are too dangerous many have been murdered.

on 3/25/2008 Any advice for a supernator (sp?)? I went and bought shoes especially made for that, and I think it helps slightly, but I find myself consciously holding my foot down flat.
