"Welcome to Expert Village, this is Kim Brown. Hair products, I was using two different setting sprays. There are a lot of different thermo sprays out there. These just happen to be two of my favorites. Aquage Beyond Body is a great working spray. It is a thermal protectant, and you want something that is going to protect your hair against the heat of the curling iron and hot rollers. Sometimes you might use the flat iron. Thermal Styling Spray is another one by Kenra. These are a wet spray and they go on nice and evenly. They do sizzle just a little bit, so that is why you want to comb through the hair after you spray them on to distribute that product evenly. Aquage Finishing Spray, it says finishing spray, but it’s actually a working spray. It’s a little bit dryer spray for everyday use. You can use it as your working spray and your finishing spray. But for a bridal up do, or your bridesmaids, you want use it to work with, and then use either the freezing spray; or Kenra’s volume spray is one of the best ones that I have found to just lock in that set all day. Beyond Shine is another Aquage product. There is another hot tool spray that is called working spray, and that gives a really crisp finish. It is a great tool to use for your setting, but you have to have something to soften it. Beyond Shine is a shine for the hair but it also acts like a fabric softener. If the hair was a fabric, this would be the softener, and you would spray it on, and you would be able to brush through that set without taking out all the curl. This is what we will spray on the hair when we take it down out of the curls, and we will be able to brush through it. To calm down any of the little frizzes….some people’s hair is frizzier than others and you have at least little pieces that want to stick out…a product like this is Taffy by Kenra. There is also another taffy from Sebastian. There is Paul Mitchell Dry Wax, which is really nice. Some people’s hair… they have finer hair, so you want something a little dryer. Taffy is a creamier substance, so it might be a little too wet for some people’s hair. I find it really looks good to create a lot of style and definition if you are going to barrel curls, knots, pin curls, or something like that in your design, and then also the dry wax.
