Series Summary

Benjamin Franklin, one of the most authoritative of our Founding Fathers, has said that there is nothing certain in this world but “death and taxes.” Taxes were a big part of government operations as early as the Pharaohs of Egypt in 3000 BCE. In Feudal Europe, taxes came in many forms, including the scutage, tallage, tithe, and danegeld. The scutage was money that could be given to excuse a feudal lord from offering military troops to his lord, the standard price of being a vassal in the Middle Ages. Tallage was a monetary tax received from dependents. Tithes, usually of 10% gross income and enforced at varying levels of severity, were requested by the Church, built on the example of Abraham giving ten percent of his wealth to Melchizedek in the book of Genesis. The danegeld was money Medieval rulers demanded for landowners to have their territories protected from invading Danes and Vikings.

"Hey how are you doing? I'm Terry Bowden with Expert Village. Today we're going to talk about how to file your taxes online. Now of course before you even begin to start on the computer, you want to get all of your information ready for doing your taxes. Such as your W2 forms any receipts and so forth; now as far as personal of course that is what we're talking about here. You might be filing single or married so those are some of the things you have to consider before you do this. Now as far as your information, have all your W2's for you if it's personal and also for your spouse if your filing jointly on the marriage part of it. Before we get there, we get all of your information together all your W2's and so forth and then you can look at the computer and to get everything ready. Now I would suggest of course this is not substituting for a professional by no means so if you do have any questions or about filing your taxes you definitely want to call a professional or the internal revenue services before you proceed. So let's begin. You have all your things together I would probably suggest to go ahead and get everything together and also try to have no distractions as possible. That will help you especially if you're not computer savy because we all know the computer definitely is intimidating to a lot of people. So now we'll begin to get on the internal revenue services website and take a look in our next segment."
