Video Transcript

"Hi, this is Doug Benson on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to show you how to balance your checkbook and as a result become a better manager of household finances. When you're finished checking off the matching transactions from your bank statements with those items in your check register you should be left with a transaction register that has items both with and without a check mark next to it. The check transactions are the ones that cleared the bank and the ones without a check have not cleared and are considered to be outstanding. We are well on our way and your checkbook is just about ready to be reconciled. Watch my next segment as we continue to learn more about balancing your checkbook and becoming a better manager of household finances."
