"Hi! This is Dan on behalf of expertvillage.com. And, this is assessing the situation. When you get pulled over, the first thing you want to do is start watching your officer. You're going to need to know who it is that's pulling you over, what kind of personality they have. Are they going to be power driven or are they going to be looking just to serve and protect the public? This is the first thing you want to be able to do. Also, in assessing the situation, you want to find out what were you doing wrong? If you honestly didn't know you were speeding, that's one thing. But, if you know you were going forty miles over the limit, you'd better know what you're going to do in this situation. Another thing to look for when you're assessing the situation is, are you going to admit guilt or not? As we discuss in later subjects, sometimes it's best to say, "Yeah, I was going ten over the limit, and I probably shouldn't have." Or in other cases, you're going to say to yourself, "I don't know how fast I was going, officer. I really don't know.""
