"Hi! I am Marianne, and on behalf of expertvillage.com, I will be discussing dining etiquette. This session is the consumption of wine. When you are out at a restaurant, typically, the waiter will bring the wine bottle that has been ordered, and pour the first glass of the party that is paying, and will pour out a little sample, such as this amount. If that palate is the desired palate for the wine, then the waiter will continue pouring the rounds across the table. Then the wine is actually filled to the full glass after the sample, has been tasted, and then what you want to do is to swirl the wine in this manner. You don’t want to hold your hand on the bottom of the glass, because the heat from your hand will change the palate You want to swirl it from the stem of the glass, that releases the bouquet of the wine and then you sip your wine."
