"YUU ASAKURA: Since we're talking about Japanese currency, let's learn how to ask how much is this okay. Some of the words sound very familiar. We're using the same structure of sentence. And here you have a word either this, that, that desk, whatever word you want to ask for and wa ikura. Ikura, this part is asked for the price, how much. Desu ka, we use this in a previous lesson that makes a question "ka?" and desu is a politeness. So just memorize the whole thing as it is as how much is so that you don't have to just get lost when you're asking for the price. Let's practice--let's practice with how much is this? You are at a shop, you are pointing at the product and you are asking kore-wa ikura desu ka? Very good, and you're pointing at something for a little bit further down and you're going to use three word at it how you do say it. Good. Are-wa ikura desu ka? And now you know how to ask for the price so you should have no problem when you shop in Japan."
