"Hello I am Elena Brouwer from the International Etiquette Center in Hollywood, Florida. Website is etiquettecenter.com. For our table manners, I would like to point out the correct way to hold your glasses when you are drinking wine. If you are drinking white wine, you would be holding your glass by the stem because white wine is served chilled and you do not want to change the temperature. So we would hold it by the stem. On the other hand if you are drinking red wine you can hold it by the stem if you wish or you may hold it partially by the bowl because red wine is usually served at room temperature and that will not affect your fingers on it. Champagne would be of course by the stem because champagne is cold when served. The water glass does not make a difference which way you hold it because we may have this type of water glass or maybe more of a tumbler size, it does not matter. And the sherry glass is usually slightly chilled and it is best to do it by the stem. This has been Elena Brouwer from the International Etiquette Center. You can find my website at www.etiquettecenter.com. And on behalf of ExpertVillage.com I thank you."
