"Hello I am Elena Brouwer from the International Etiquette Center in Hollywood, Florida. Website is etiquettecenter.com. Talking about good table manners, sometimes by accident we are eating and we have our silverware in our hands and all of a sudden something happens and out goes one. We never get up and get the silverware, we always ask for another one. If we are in a restaurant we would ask the wait staff, if we are in a private home we would ask the host/hostess for another one. The only time that the silverware would be picked up would be at the end of the meal unless it is in the way and that somebody could get hurt. Otherwise just leave it there and somebody else will take care of it. And that applies also to your napkin, if you drop your napkin; please ask for a clean one and you will always be in good taste."
