"Hello my name is Hakeem Lavelle I am here on behalf of Expert Village to do a how to video on teaching a foreign language. We are in the portion now where we are talking about the Middle Eastern or the Middle Asian IndoPack; this is a group of people that have had experience with and they presented many challenges in teaching. Just like in anyone else. In teaching from someone in that presentation two things that are challenged accent and adaptation the two As. They come with a heavy accent so getting them to calm it down to adjust to another language that my present a problem. Then getting them to adapt. I give you a example of adaptation most people do not understand why is it that people that comes from that region say bruzzer and not brother. Or why do they say "I Sink" not "I Think"; this problem can be easily summed into in their language which is either Urdu or Punjabi or one of those similar languages there is a lack of what is called the dental letters; being able to say this, that, think those aren't there in their language. When you try to teach them Arabic there are three letters that exist in Arabic that do not exist in Urdu they actually change it in Urdu and in Arabic there is vel, vaw, and tha, dental letters that go between the teeth. While in there language they don't have that, so they substitute th with zz because they have a buzzing sound very similar to it. So instead of saying this they say zis, or instead of saying tha, or thank you or think they sa you now, thank you becomes sank you, and I sink this is the problem. Now this is by no mean made to mock such a language no it is just to show you the contrast, the difference, and the reason for the problem the root of the problem. The root of the problem is they don't have delta letters so getting them to adapt to dental letters would be a challenge and getting by the accent. Thank you!"
