Video Transcript

" Hello my name is Hakeem Lavelle I am here on behalf of Expert Village to do a how to video on teaching a foreign language. Specifically I teach the Arabic language. Now teaching Arabic we are on the preparation phase. Preparation. How do you prepare someone to learn something that they are not a custom to. Something that is foreign something that is aliened to them. Well part of that preparation process, a lot of it is mental. It is mental preparation for both the teacher and the student. On the teacher's end it is a mental preparation because you have to expect so many different things. You have to prepare yourself for so many different things. Perhaps you will have a student that haves absolutely no confidence in you or in himself. Now you as a teacher you need to convince him as a student that he can do this and you can teach it to him. Sounds easy right. And then as a teacher it is even tougher because you are in different scenarios depending on who your audience is, depending on who your student is you are in situation in were you have to teach somebody and maybe they do not want to learn. Maybe it is difficult for them to learn. Maybe they are in a situation where they can learn but you know they just happen not tot reach that point where it is easy for them. Now you have to be a motivator, you have to be a psychiatrist, and you have to be a teacher. It makes it sometimes challenging. Thank you for watching."
