" Hi! My name is Ann and I am here to talk about colors and shapes. In kindergarten, in the beginning of the school year, there is many a time tests that are given and evaluations made to see if students know and recognize colors and shapes. These are readiness skills that are often tested in kindergarten because unfortunately there are many students who come to kindergarten not knowing these things. So it is important at home when you have a chance to go over the various colors and to go over certainly the circle, triangle, rectangle, square, diamond, star, okay these are the more common shapes that will be tested and you can do this in a fun way at home, when you are out, in the mall, in the market and to take these opportunities to say wow!, look at that red circle or square. Let us look at that blue triangle. Again you can combine fun with learning. And this is something I would urge you to do before you start kindergarten. Thank you."
