Hi! My name is Ann and I am here to talk to you about what we call CVC words. This is an important topic and something again you can do at home to help your child be more successful in kindergarten and make it easier school year. So what are CVC words. Okay, basically it is Consonant Vowel Consonant. Some of the examples of these words for example, here is a worksheet that is often found in kindergarten that teachers will use with students in the classroom and here is an example of CVC words, bad, dad, lad, mad, pad, sad. So remember now consonant are all the letters except the vowels, a, e, i, o, u. So these are the kinds of words that you could be doing at home and having them practice once you have covered the alphabet, of course you need to know your alphabet first are words that you can cover at home. Rat, sat, pat, again CVC words and again do not ever be in a high pressure situation. You want to do it in a fun and relaxed manner at home. You could do flash cards, you could check out books that have many CVC words within the text. Okay, Thank you so much.
