Series Summary

Flamenco dance and music began in the Andalusian region of Spain by immigrant gypsies or Gitanos who brought a tragic and sentimental aspect to Spanish music. The music combines singing (cante), staccato hand clapping (palmas), acoustic guitar and is accompanied by passionate, at times defiant, graceful, and forceful dancing.

"Hi! Thank you for visiting Expertvillage.com. My name is Yvette Parrish. What I am wearing also is prefect for flamenco dance class. It is a black leotard, you can do long sleeve or short sleeve, but I think long sleeve is a little bit more flamenco style, but of course you can wear your type of leotard, that you want. This is a practice skirt. You can get it in just about any color, but black and polka dots is a more typical class type skirt. I am wearing a pico or small manton also come in a variety of colors and of course colorful earrings and flowers. So also when you are coming to class you need to look the part. You are dancing and performing, you need to look the part. There is some beautiful extravagant flamenco dresses that are really for performance because we are working so hard in class you don’t want to ruin your pretty dresses during class. So this is a nice outfit for you to wear while your working out at home or at the studio. This would be very fundamental to add to your flamenco wardrobe. "
