How to Pick a Turkey Platter

"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village I am going to show you how to easily carve your Thanksgiving Day turkey. Now that we have our turkey all carved and ready to serve, what are we going to serve it on? Well, you can always look and see what you have in your cabinet but here are some basic ideas to look for. You can use a serving platter that is rather, I wouldn't say plain so much as a neutral. This is going to go with a bunch of different types of patterns of silverware and plates. So it is something of a nice basic service piece to use and it will go with pretty much everything and for every holiday. Now something else that you might want to use would be a glass platter. You can see that this one has a pressed design on the edges but it is also a really good neutral, it is going to go with a lot of things. A lot of this depends on what your decor is. You can see that this one has leaves on it making it a little bit more appropriate for Thanksgiving perhaps. And then, last but not least, at least for me. This is a platter that goes with my dish set. Now lots of times if you have a dish set then you are going to have options for platters and serving pieces that go with it. But if you don't want to do that and you want to go with something a little bit more interesting and different you can also do that. And of course, the last choice, is having something special for Thanksgiving, perhaps a leaf motif or a pumpkin, gourds of some sort. Anything that is going to say this is my Thanksgiving Day table."
