"Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail and on behalf of Expert Village I am going to show you how to easily care your Thanksgiving Day turkey. One more thing about knives. You might be tempted to use an electrical knife instead of a manual knife. Now there are various reasons why you might want to use an electrical knife, however, I think for carving a turkey a manual is going to do it better. With an electric knife it might be quite easy to cut through the breast meat or if you were doing something else such as a roast, something without a bone, then an electric knife would probably work just as well as a manual knife. However, for a turkey, you really need to get around the bones and the contours of the turkey's body in order to cut through cleanly for the different parts. So, a manual knife where you can feel what you are doing and you can go through slowly is really what is going to make a difference between proper carving and a hacked up turkey. If you still want to have an electric knife you can certainly use it for the breast meat and you can also use it for the leftovers because for the leftovers, no one is going to pay attention to what the turkey is going to look like."
