"Food goes hand in hand with cultures, people, memories, and experiences. I believe that you what you eat. Going to a foreign land and eating their foods, going into their markets, the spices, the flavorings, they all tell something about people and their society and their culture and their life style. If you're on a budget, I say go to the grocery stores. Soak up the vibes in there. All the different colors and the exotic foods you may not have ever had. Buy picnic and go out to a park and people watch and have your bri and wine or whatever it is your want. Walking through a market, just perusing through and having a little bite here and a bite there . Sometimes you might have to gesture and body language or say I want that what she's having. You can discover so many amazing things. Be it crickets, or dog, or haggis, I say jump right in there and give it a go. Of course, use caution. If you're in a place where the water is questionable, be careful about eating a raw salad or something washed in the water. It's not worth it to be doubled over for the rest of your vacation. If you're a vegetarian, it's becoming more and more common to see vegetarian options on the menu. Of course, it's easier in come places than others, but really you shouldn't have a problem. I say get in there and savor the flavor."
