Hi! My name is Scott Reil and on behalf of Expert Village, I would like to talk to you about container gardening. Now it is time to plant our terrarium. We are not going to plant the same way we might plant the garden or container. I am going to leave plants in the container. In fact in some cases, like this little guy, I am going to plant it in a small container so I can take it afterwards tuck it in and hide it down amongst my sub straight. I am going to leave this fern in this container too but now we’ve got that green pot sticking up. There’s a lot of different ways to take care of that and in this case, I happen to have some wonder fiber around and this is a fiber from a fern. It’s got a natural look to it and I’m just going to be able to tuck this down and around my other fern, cover up the edge of the pot and create a natural look that covers up that green container it was in. This will also afford a really great spot for moss and other ferns to grow up on my container up and around it further hiding it. Adding a little more stub straight and I like to look at this red stump. It is really going to give a finer look to things; it’s going to cover up the edges of pots and containers. This is actually somewhat water absorbent type that will actually help to absorb any excess water and because it is a water absorbent type, any of the mosses that I am adding in whether it is established in here are going to feel pretty comfortable growing up and over. We’ll go back and we’ll tuck in a few more pieces of moss around the edges and I always come back and add more moss to this later. In the meantime, I was given a great start to my terrarium. Don’t feel like it’s done, you can always go back. They can worth some progress but a quick watering and your terrarium is going to be ready to go. This is a look that is just going to keep getting better and something you can bring inside when the summer months are over to help remind you of those wonderful days.
