Dressing Up for Halloween is fun and a chance to show off your creative side on the same day as a bunch of other people with whom you work or socialize.
Prepare to clean up after yourself if your costume involves make-up.
Don't forget to accommodate the call of mother nature when planning your costume
Don't wear your costume when driving, especially if it interferes with seeing the road.
Step1
Plan Ahead - Costumes stores start opening their doors in August. Shop around ahead of time and think of a theme. Consider a costume which involves a friend. Two zombies are more fun than one!
Step2
Calculate Your Budget - There's no need to overspend on your costume. Splurge on some parts of it, but don't feel like you have to break the bank for every part of it.
Step3
Piece it together - Start at your head and work down to your toes. There are endless options from hats, earrings, fake glasses and noses, make-up, necklaces, jackets, boots, sandles and shoes. What makes a costume unique is how well its accessorized. You can be a zombie, but disco ball earrings and a leisure suit makes your costume a disco zombie.
Step4
Pack it Up - If you have to take your costume to work, or if you have some place to go after your costume party, it's easier if you know in advance how you're going to lug around your costume.
Step5
Pack Cleaning Items - Throw a towel, some liquid soap, and face cleaner into the bag for your costume. You might need an extra towel to clean the sink if, for example, you have to put on make-up in a bathroom at work or at a friend's house.
Step6
Plan Your Debut - There's no reason to not have plans to socialize during the week of halloween. After putting time and effort into creating your costume--SHOW IT OFF!!! If there's a costume contest at work, enter to win.
