"Hi, my name is Gary Godwin and I'm the General Manager for Hawley's Camping Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. On behalf of Expert Village, this is a tape entitled: How to Purchase an RV. Now, let's talk about towables. What are towables? They're called fifth wheels and they're called travel trailers, depending on how you want to pull your camper. Obviously, a travel trailer hooks up to the back of the bumper, and the fifth wheel actually sits into the bed of the truck. Which is better? It depends on you. It follows you no matter where you go, no matter which one you use, so it's a very good product, either way. Some people like the tow ability better in the fifth wheel, some people like the back up or the maneuverability better than a fifth wheel. That's totally up to you. Again, it's your comfort zone. You're the one that's going to be having fun out there. And that's what's very important. Now towables, let's talk about weight. You can get some around four thousand pounds, or they can go up to twelve thousand to fifteen thousand pounds. The roof's the limit now. RV manufacturers are putting more bells and whistles on these campers than they've ever done before. More frou-frou, washers, dryers, full polar package, it's just amazing what the manufacturer is putting out there now. Price point goes up accordingly, so keep that in mind. If you only want to go camping for the weekend and you're really not going to be in your camper that much, then I suggest not as much frou-frou as they have on the upgrades. But again, remember this, it's your camper, not ours. It's you that are going to be out there camping and having fun. And that's what's entailed in all of this. Number one, again, towables is one, you have two different divisions. There's one trailer which hooks on the back of the bumper, and then you have the fifth wheel, which fits on the back of the truck. Do your homework. When you come in, decide which one you would like for us to show you."
