Power Washing Your Deck for Care & Maintenance

"Hi this is Drew Finn for expertvillage.com we are going to talk about cleaning and maintaining a deck. This video is presented by Black Dog Video and you can visit us on the web on blackdogvideo.biz. We are going to use a power wash to clean up the deck. Now you could use just a hose with a sprayer on it but we got our power wash so we are going to use it. What we need to do is adjust the power wash to be a thin spray not a concentrated burst and we don't want it to be to close to the wood because we do not want to penetrate the wood to much with the water. So what we are going to do is fire it up and adjust the spray. We got to spray here and we got to adjust it to thin out like that so it won't penetrate to our wood so much. Now we would clean along the seams. What we want to do is swing it along and not get to close to the wood because we do not want to penetrate into the wood. Sweep back and forth we go along the grain and down the grooves to clean out the debris and make sure it is nice and clean. So that is what we are doing here and as we go back and forth we are going to see that it is cleaning up really nice."
