"Hi, this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip we'll be locating our power shut off. Before we can start taking down our old light we need to make sure that the power is shut off so we don't get electrocuted. The first thing we need to do is locate our main circuit shut off. Now, typically this is located in the basement. On this particular house it's located on the back of the garage. All of the electricity in your house will feed through this panel and you need to locate the appropriate circuit and switch it off. You always want to double check that the power is off by flipping the switch making sure that the light doesn't come on. If the light does come on you need to recheck what you've done and make sure that you've switched the right circuit."
