Now it seems a little unusual that insects would damage a carnivorous plant, but usually plants can have problems with insects like aphids and other very small pests. Now what you want to use to kill these pests is a soluble insecticide like this Orthene, other insecticides can kill the plants instantly so you want to be very careful of the brand that you’re using. And when you treat these plants, you want to take a very small amount, this insecticide comes in a pellet form, take about a dozen or so pellets and sprinkle them around the base of your plant. These pellets will them absorb from the water in the plant and in the soil and they will go down into the root system which will then be brought up into the leaves of the plant which then will kill the insects that try to eat the plants in about 24 hours and you should have no more problems with insects or aphids bothering your plants. It’s important though not to treat the leaves of the plant because some carnivorous plants, this type of insecticide can actually damage the foliage of the plant. That’s why it’s important to actually treat the soil rather than the leaves themselves."
