Propagating Carnivorous Plants Through Leaf-Cutting

"Hi my name is Wes for ExpertVillage.com and in this video segment I’m going to talk to you about reproduction of carnivorous plants through leaf cutting. If you want to know more about these plants you can visit us at Equilibriocarnivorousplants.com. so first you want to start off with a pot full of moist carnivorous plant potting soil and here we’re going to use a leaf cutting from a Pinguicula or a Butterwort. You want to take the plant from the pot and you want to remove a few of the leaves from the base, place them in the soil, you want to make sure that you’re removing no more than 50 percent of the plants leaves, 40 percent is usually about the best amount or else you will kill the plant. So after you’ve removed a few leaves and placed them around the pot like so, you can water the soil again and eventually you’ll come out with several plants like this, just from these leaf cuttings and you can do leaf cuttings on Sundews, Butterworts obviously and also on your Venus Flytrap, occasionally it also works with your Genliseas or your Bladderwort."
