"Hi! My name is Adria and I am one of the professional jugglers here at Expert Village.com. We are going to be learning how to juggle rings. Funny you say, you’re a juggling beanbags that is because I want you to refer back to Steven Bent videos here on Expert Village learning to juggle one through three balls into a three ball cascade. You have to have the basics of this before you can learn rings. Once you can juggle three balls in a cascade pattern, we are going to be working with rings. It will be very similar to balls, the pattern will be the same. We are going to take the overthrow motion that I described in the introduction to rings and that’s how we are going to throw them. We will do an underhanded throw across the mid line of our body or over spinning the rings. By over spinning, we are over bending our wrists, so we are kind of throwing it a little bit backwards on itself towards our face. Remember the automatic natural motion for rings is to go away. Now with the rings we are going to have a little bit more exaggerated motion than with balls because they are larger, they need to go higher and they have a greater tendency to hit us in the face. One ring, underhanded throw, over-spinning it, so it is not spinning away from us and then two rings, one, two catch, catch, one, two catch, catch, one, two catch, catch, just like the balls. Again the underhanded throws, over-spinning the rings, throwing them at separate times, having them cross the mid line of our body and it is very simple to pick up the third ring. I hold my rings in a way that keeps them slightly separate by using the index finger of my right hand. That way I can feel them independently of each other, they are on my fingers in separate places so I can throw one and then throw the second one and just like the balls you throw before you catch. It is right, left, right. Again right, left, right and then you merely keep going throwing before you catch. It is the same theory and the same patterns as you throw balls. You just have to learn to handle the rings differently and to over spin them back on themselves, but not too much or you will hit yourself in the face and I know from whence I speak."
