Boiling Pasta for Baked Penne Pasta Recipe

"Now, we're going to boil our penne for our baked penne and sausage casserole. We're using penne because this is an organic penne. I really like this particular pasta because it stays nice and sturdy, and it's tubular, which is great for a baked pasta so all the sauce and the cheese and everything goes in and gets caught inside the pasta. And so every time you take a bite, there's all kinds of ingredients in there. I have vigorously boiling salted water, plenty of it. I'm going to add my pasta, one pound of organic penne pasta. And that should boil. We're going to actually undercook it a little bit. That should boil for about eight to ten minutes, probably a little closer to eight minutes. I would go a little longer if I was serving it just out of the bowl, just sauced. But since it's going in the oven, we want to undercook it a little, make it a little more al dente, which means to the tooth. And that way, it won't be overcooked in the oven.
