I'm Laura Banford. I'm going to teach you how to make baked Penne with sausage. Today we are going to make a delicious Italian dish baked Penne with sausage. This dish uses dry pasta, pasta is an extremely ancient form of food. It was invented in 2000 BC by the Chinese they used fresh pasta. In other words they made their noodles and they ate their noodles usually in soup. Dry pasta came to Sisley in about the 12th century it was much much later, 32 years later to be exact. When dry pasta was begin to be used in Italy specifically Sisley. The pasta we're going to use today is Penne it's a tubular pasta with pointed edges there is lots of different kinds of dry pasta. There are shells which would be used for stuffing and baking, spaghetti obviously that's sauced and not baked. There's rotel which is usually used in pasta salad and there are just literally hundreds of different shapes of pasta. They are shaped accordingly to there usage. This dish is delicious as I said we're going to boil the pasta we're going to make a sauce from scratch but don't worry it's not hard it's really really easy. We're going to add some sausage to it, lots of cheese and put it in the oven. Join me in the next clip when I show you the simple equipment that you'll need to make baked penne.
