"Hi! John King for expertvillage.com. We are going into our second part of our macaroni and cheese today. We are going to boil the water. First off we have the water boiling right now and we are going to throw in our pasta. So you want the water to be at a rolling boil. It is really important that it is at a rolling boil or your stuff will stick. It is important also to add salt to your water because otherwise yuou are going to make a killer sauce for your mac and cheese and you are going to have a lot of flavor in that and when it gets to the pasta part it is going to be really bland because the pasta will have no taste to it. So you want to add salt to your water so we are going to do that right now; quite a bit, a couple of tablespoons. You also have to make sure you have a lot of water, room for the pasta. You don't want to have it cramped in there otherwise it will stick on you. So right here we have 10 cups of uncooked elbow macaroni. We are going to throw that into the water and also we need to add a little bit of oil; a little bit of oilive oil to keep it from sticking. We are going to grab a spoon here and stir it up and to make sure that it is all distributed evenly. That will also help so that it won't stick. Then we are going to put the lid back on it so that it will bring it back up to a boil quicker and it should take about 8 to 10 minutes to cook. We want to make sure that we under cook it a little bit because it is going to be put back into the sauce and then cooked in the oven so we want to under cook it so that by the time it cooks it will be the right temperature and won't be mushy or underdone. So say about 8 to 10 minutes and we will be ready to drain it and cool it off."
